    ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Dr. Judith Lucci is an award-winning, Amazon best-selling author of the Alex Destephano Medical Thriller Series and the newly released Michaela McPherson Crime Series.

Her Alex Destephano thriller novels take readers into the busy world of a fictitious world-class hospital in New Orleans. The main characters are: Alexandra “Alex” Destephano, a nurse attorney who is legal counsel for Crescent City Medical Center (CCMC); Jack Francoise, a dedicated, gnarly, unyielding NOPD Commander who covers the 8th Precinct in the French Quarter; Robert Bonnet, a dashing surgeon and Alex's ex-husband; and, Alex’s best friend and psychiatrist, Monique Desmonde.

The Michaela McPherson mystery novels are set in the author’s hometown of Richmond, Virginia. Michaela “Mic” McPherson is a retired Richmond homicide detective turned private eye. With her canine companion, Angel (a retired police dog), and 82-year-old sidekick Countess Dorothy Borghase, they are constantly up to their ears in crime and dangerous situations requiring quick thinking and ingenious solutions.

Recently, The Case of Dr. Dude (first book in the Michaela McPherson Crime Series), was voted “Best Read of the Summer,” an award presented by Lock Publishing in the United Kingdom. The second book in the series, The Dead Dowager, releases in early December, 2016.

In addition to her novels, Judith is featured with other authors in two anthologies, Mystery Gone Mad and Stories of Sun, Sand & Sea. She also has a collection of short stories, Black Magic Bayou Stories, best described as moralistic tales with Cajun and Creole lore as their basis.

Dr. Lucci is a nurse who holds graduate and doctoral degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. She’s an avid reader, teacher, and artist. She’s a member of The Gulf Coast Writers Club, the Shenandoah Valley Writers, and Sisters in Crime.
