Bio
Elizabeth Spencer Spragins is a poet, writer, and editor who taught in North Carolina community colleges for more than a decade before returning to her home state of Virginia. Her academic work has been published by Edwin Mellen Press and the Association for Computing Machinery; her reviews have appeared in Ninnau and The Moravian.
She writes in traditional poetic forms that focus on the beauty and mystery of landscapes. Her short fiction, tanka, and bardic verse in the Celtic style have appeared in more than 100 journals and anthologies in 12 countries. She is the author of three original poetry collections: "Waltzing with Water: Tempos in Verse" (Shanti Arts Publishing), "With No Bridle for the Breeze: Ungrounded Verse" (Shanti Arts Publishing), and "The Language of Bones: American Journeys Through Bardic Verse" (Kelsay Books).
An avid swimmer and an enthusiastic fiber artist, she has relocated to Oro Valley, Arizona, in pursuit of desert sunsets and dark skies.
