Work 1 - Description
FRAMESHIFTS is a novel in two volumes about an imaginary region of Northern Virginia in the current time and next century. Read FRAMESHIFTS as crime fiction, suspense, novellas, dystopia, disaster story, visionary poetry, or novel. All readings work. With plot twists including a technocratic cult, a genetic formula encoded in a crown of sonnets, and a rising body count, the American dream turns into a nightmare that, like a fitful sleep, forever shifts in its perceived reality. Frameshifts is a two-volume epic ride that keeps readers guessing and turning pages.
Frameshifts was published in 2011 by Createspace Part One: ISBN 978-1461061281 and Parts 2&3: ISBN 978-1461157731; Part One: LCCN 2011905608 and Parts 2&3: LCCN 2011907518

Work 3 - Description
Coming Around is a book of poetry that tells stories about family, the sugar trade, and the slavery that paid for it. In this work, Richmond poet and song-writer Richard Rose has embodied his experience in trying to imagine and understand our people, free and once enslaved, and how we may treat the long-lasting wounds. As a social and environmental activist, Rose became determined to explore and come to terms with the many consequences of the injustices in which his family took part. The story begins with Simon Abouette and the Ouillechaud family, who purchase him to work on their sugar plantation in Louisiana, and is interspersed with heartbreaking lyric pieces based on historical anecdotes from across the South.
Coming Around was published in 2018 by Brandylane Press. ISBN 978-1-947860-08-07 and LCCN 2018938030
