Aleck Loker
Aleck Loker: Aleck is a retired government scientist and history buff. He has written about colonial history for various publications and has published two full-length books: Fearless Captain: the Adventuress of John Smith; and A Most Convenient Place: Leonardtown, Maryland 1650-1950. He is currently completing work on a history of Roanoke Island and the Lost Colony scheduled for release in 2007. His Chesapeake Bay: Witnesses to the Creation provides an excellent account of the natural and cultural history of the Chesapeake from the events and forces that have shaped the bay millennia ago to the impact of modern man on this important regional watershed.
