On Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 PM at the Northside Library in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Virginia Writers Club will be hosting a 20th Annual Virginia Festival of the Book program entitled, Building Community with Poetry, featuring Sofia M. Starnes, Stan Galloway, Gillian Huang-Tiller and moderated by Sara M. Robinson.

Sofia M. Starnes is Poet Laureate of Virginia (2012-14), Stan Galloway is professor of English at Bridgewater College and organizer of the Bridgewater International Poetry Festival, Gillian Huang-Tiller is associate professor of English at UVA-Wise and founder of "Coffee Night" in Southwest Virginia, and Sara M. Robinson is the VWC's first vice president and poetry columnist for Southern Writer Magazine.

Panelists will share their community building projects and discuss where poetry has been, where it is now, and where it is headed. Why poetry? Does poetry matter? Should poetry matter? What does poetry do for the community that other writing genres cannot?

Following the panel discussion, participants will be selling and signing copies of their latest books.
